The “Auto Gewerbe Verband Schweiz (AGVS)” is the industry and professional association of Swiss garage owners. As an umbrella organization, it supports its members with services, promotes their interests and actively contributes to the further development and profiling of the automotive industry in the area of education and training. The AGVS represents around 4000 small, medium-sized and larger companies, brand representatives and independent garage businesses.
The total of 39,000 employees in the AGVS companies – of which around 8,500 are junior staff undergoing training and further education – sell, maintain and repair the majority of the Swiss vehicle fleet with around 5.9 million motor vehicles. As the umbrella organization of Swiss garage owners, the “Auto Gewerbe Verband Schweiz (AGVS)” stands up for its members and effectively supports them in their hard work.
The AGVS also advocates for the interests of its members at the political level. In addition, the association conducts qualification procedures, professional examinations and higher professional examinations on behalf of the federal government, thus considering the further development and profiling of the auto trade.

The 30 members of Avenergy Suisse account for around 95% of Swiss imports of crude oil, petroleum products and renewable fuels. Among other things, they operate a network of over 3,300 petrol stations and over 1,300 stores.

In 1927, independent Swiss importers of petroleum products joined forces and founded the AVIA Association in Switzerland. More than 90 years later, 10 AVIA member companies maintain the largest petrol station network in Switzerland under their joint brand name, with around 550 petrol stations and over 100 shops. In addition to the petrol station business, the AVIA member companies are also major suppliers of heating oil and distribute a comprehensive, high-quality range of lubricants, which includes a wide range of lubricants for motor vehicles through to industrial specialities.
AVIA member companies are investing in the future as pioneers, with a clear focus on hydrogen mobility. In the process, they are increasingly transforming themselves into energy service providers and players that offer the entire hydrogen eco-cycle, from production to filling station. From AVIA’s point of view, this is a sensible way to promote local climate-friendly mobility with green hydrogen that is produced without CO₂ emissions on the basis of renewable energies.
In addition to the success story in Switzerland, today around 80 medium-sized companies in 14 European countries with over 3000 filling stations together form AVIA INTERNATIONAL.
Benefiting from the advantages while remaining independent – a convincing concept both on a national and international level.

Migros is a Swiss retailer – but it is also much more than that. It is the largest private employer in the country as well as the leading purchaser of Swiss agricultural products. Run as a cooperative, Migros puts people first. Anyone residing in Switzerland or in a neighbouring country can become a member of one of the ten regional Migros cooperatives free of charge and have a say in the future of the community. Due to its widespread presence, Migros plays a major role in everyday Swiss life. It would be hard to imagine Switzerland without it. Migros not only operates supermarkets and specialist markets but also the Club School, fitness centres, travel agencies and a successful bank.
Migros is also leading the way when it comes to decarbonising freight transport. It has relied on rail transport since its conception and to this day, around 50% of its domestic transports are carried out by rail. In road freight transport, Migros uses the multi-technology approach. In concrete terms, this means that it relies on a combination of various alternative drive types and continually expands its lorry fleet accordingly. Along with hydrogen-powered and electric lorries, Migros also uses biogas and biodiesel as sustainable fuels. A digital tool called “M Opex Tower” allows Migros to plan its transport logistics in such a way that it will be able to achieve a 70% reduction in its CO2 emissions from road transport by 2030.
